What to expect from Beats Solo Buds

The next generation of Beats Solo is launching in June (US) and there is a lot to unpack. Not only can we expect Beats to release new headphones (Beats Solo 4) but also wireless earbuds with a starting price of £79.99 / $79.99.

The Beats Solo Buds are inspired by Beats’ most loved headphones, Beats Solo 3 and will be a cheaper alternative to the Studio Buds and Studio Buds+. It’s hard to say how good the sound will be but Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music, Apple TV+, Sports, and Beats claims the new Solo line will provide ‘Exceptional sound quality’.

In this article, we will explore what you can expect from the Beats Solo Buds, from their design and features to their sound quality and battery life.

Beats Solo Buds: Compact and Comfortable

The Beats Solo Buds are designed with the signature concept of portability and comfort, that the Solo line is known for.

These true wireless earphones are the smallest in the Beats lineup, with a notably light case (22g), compared to the (39g) Studio Beats + case.

The ergonomic design of the Solo Buds ensures a secure and comfortable fit. Just like the Studio Buds line, the Solo Buds offer four different ear tip sizes (XS, S, M, L) to choose from.

Beats Solo Buds: Connectivity and Intuitive Controls

Whether you’re an iPhone or Android user, the Solo Buds can connect to your device. They offer the one-touch pairing just like the Studio Buds, allowing you to easily connect to both iOS and Android devices.

Plus, with native compatibility, you can perform automatic account setup and access features like Find My or Find My Device.

The on-ear functions allow you to adjust the volume, take calls, and activate your voice assistant with just a press of the ‘b’ button. And if you’re an iOS user, you can configure the press-and-hold action in the settings to customize your experience.

Beats Solo Buds: Impressive Battery Life and Fast Charging

Battery life is always a concern when it comes to wireless earphones.

But the Solo earbuds boast up to 18 hours of playback. That’s way better than the 9 hours offered by the Studio Buds. Plus, a quick 5-minute charge can give you up to 1 hour of playback.

The Solo Buds can be charged using a USB-C cable or directly from your phone, tablet, or laptop, giving you the flexibility to charge them wherever you are.

The Beats Solo 4: Next-Level Headphone Experience

Alongside the Solo Buds, Beats is also launching the next generation of its most popular headphones, the Beats Solo 4.

These headphones are said to upgrade the solo line by improving sound quality, personalizing spatial audio, and enhancing comfort.

They also feature a light design that ensures a comfortable fit with UltraPlush on-ear cushions and an ergonomically angled ear cup design. Furthermore, they offer custom-built 40mm transducers that minimize electronic artefacts and distortion.

The Solo’s personalized spatial audio and dynamic head tracking intend to create a  irtual three-dimensional soundstage, that will make you feel like you’re in the middle of the action whilst gaming or playing music.

When it comes to battery life, the Solo 4 has managed to improve upon its predecessor. Whilst, the Beats Solo 3 headphones offered 40 hours of battery life, the 4 offers 50 hours of playback.

And if you need a quick charge, just 10 minutes of charging will give you up to 5 hours of playback.

    Sustainability and Environmental Consciousness

Allegedly the packaging for both the Solo Buds and Solo 4 is 100% fiber-based, using recycled materials from sustainably managed forests.

Beats Solo Buds vs Beats Studio Buds +

If you were considering purchasing the Beats Studio Buds+, but you’re eyes are straying to the cheaper release in June here’s a table we created for a quick comparison.

    Beats Solo Buds: Final thoughts

The upcoming launch of the Beats Solo Buds and Solo 4 is certainly intriguing. If the rumours are true, both products should be comfortable, affordable and provide superior sound quality. Not to mention, the Beats Solo Buds are a steal at the price of £79.99 / $79.99.

Whether you’re a music lover, a gamer, or someone who enjoys watching movies on the go, the Beats Solo Buds and Solo 4 will be something to look forward to.
