Smartphone batteries have been growing a lot in recent years. In 2025, we’ve seen more 6,000mAh phones than ever in the shape of the OnePlus 13 and Vivo X200 Pro to name just a few. Now Honor has upped the game even further with the Honor Power which will reportedly include an 8,000mAh battery.

That is almost double what many smartphones already offer. For example, the iPhone 16 only has a 3,561mAh battery. Now, size isn’t everything and more mAh doesn’t translate directly into proportional battery life gains. A large chunk of battery life is determined by the energy efficiency of hardware components like processor chips and modems or software optimisation. Even so, this is a big step for smartphone technology.
Honor Power Specifications
Under the hood, the Honor Power will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. This midrange processor delivers a 15% faster CPU and a 50% more powerful GPU compared to its predecessor and means that the Power won’t be a flagship device.
The device will also feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 108MP main camera. Remarkably, the Honor Power isn’t massively thicker or heavier coming it at just 8mm thick and 209g.
Charging such a massive battery could be a concern, but Honor has seemingly addressed this with a whopping 66W fast charging capability. Only real world tests will reveal the true nature of the battery performance but it promises to be an interesting phone in any case.
Currently, the Honor Power is only available in China from 18th April, with no official word yet on international availability.
