Yesterday Sony announced two new smartphones, the Xperia 1 VI and the Xperia 10 VI. A quick look tells us that the Xperia 10 will be great for photographers, whilst the 1 VI provides a budget friendly alternative.
Here’s a basic summary of what to expect from Sony’s latest!
Sony Xperia 1 VI Phone

The Xperia 1 VI is Sony’s latest flagship offering. It has a 6.5-inch OLED display (the same as the iPhone 11 Pro Max) with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
It features a 12MP ultrawide lens, a 12MP telephoto lens with a 7.1x optical zoom, and a 48MP main camera equipped with the Exmor T for Mobile sensor, intended to appeal to photographers.
But the Xperia 1 VI isn’t just about the camera. The “Powered by BRAVIA” tuning on the OLED panel brings further clarity to images and videos, with “full-stage” balanced speakers.
Under the hood, the Xperia 1 VI is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. This combination of top-tier hardware ensures smoother multitasking and faster performance.
The Xperia 1 VI also comes with a 5,000mAh battery and with Sony’s Adaptive Battery technology, you can allegedly get two days of usage on a single charge.
The Xperia 1 VI will be available for pre-order starting in early June, with a suggested retail price of £1,299 / €1,399.
Sony Xperia 10 VI: The Stamina Specialist

While the Xperia 1 VI caters to the high-end market, the 10 VI provides a more budget-friendly alternative.
Similar to the Xperia 1 VI phone, the Xperia 10 VI’s has a 5,000mAh battery, which, again, Sony claims can provide up to two days of typical usage on a single charge.
Despite its more affordable price tag, the Xperia 10 VI has a quality camera. Its 48MP main camera has a 2x in-sensor zoom, as well as an 8MP ultrawide lens. Additionally, the device’s 6.1-inch OLED display, with its 21:9 aspect ratio.
Like its flagship counterpart, the Xperia 10 VI has Gorilla Glass Victus protection and IP65/68 water and dust resistance.
The Xperia 10 VI, on the other hand, will hit the market in the middle of June, with a more affordable price tag of £349 / €399.
