Linkind EP6 Smart Hexagon Panels Hands-on: An Ingenious Way to Transform A Room

If you need to spice up your office, living room or gaming setup, these lights are an excellent choice.

When I first moved into my studio, the place where I review and record all of the tech you see on my YouTube channel and this website, I was slightly overwhelmed by the blandness. A white box is neither an enticing place to work or an attractive backdrop for videos.

The solution in these scenarios, without totally redecorating, is always lighting. The way you light a room is vital and can totally change its vibe.

That’s why Linkind’s Entertainment Lighting caught my eye. Not only do their lights offer loads of customisability, but they are also cheaper than competitors. So, to see how good they are, I’ve had my hands on Linkind’s Smart Hexagon Panels which I paired with their TV Backlights and LED light strip.

    Here’s what I’ve found!

Setup: Easy installation and flexible designs

At first glance, the EP6 Smart Hexagon Panels look similar to other modular lights you’ve probably seen online. But a closer look reveals some clever design touches that make them surprisingly versatile in real-world use.

The biggest standout is the Any-Side Connect feature, which means you’re not locked into connecting panels in a single direction. You can link them together from any of the six edges.

This sounds like a small detail, but it’s remarkably liberating when you’re planning out a design on your wall. Whether you prefer a tidy geometric grid, a wavy line above your desk, or something more abstract that wraps around corners, you’re free to build in any direction you like.

It’s great too if you’ve got small spaces to work with as the hardware doesn’t restrict what you are able to do.

Setting everything up is as straightforward as can be once you have the panels fixed to the wall. I was surprised by this part, ready to have to individually pair all the lights, but Linkind’s app detects the layout automatically, so the control interface on your phone matches the exact design on the wall.

This makes it much easier to manage animations or colour transitions without having to mentally map out where each panel is. You can scale a design up to a maximum of 21 panels before needing another phone to control the output.

Once you figure out how the mounting mechanism works, it was honestly a breeze to use the lights through the app. So kudos there!

    AuraScape™: Loads of customisation

One of the standout features of Linkind’s kit is AuraScape™. It’s a fancy name that basically means each edge of a panel can display different colours and brightness levels at the same time. One panel can display various colours.

That means you can create smoother gradients, subtle light transitions, or even bold patterns across your wall. The choice is left in your hands.

You can pick from a library of over 60 pre-set scenes, tweak existing effects, or use the DIY editor to customise every single frame’s colour, speed, and direction. It’s an excellent bit of functionality that has the user at its heart. For anyone who enjoys fine-tuning how their space looks and feels, there’s plenty to explore here.

It’s also possible to share your creations through the Linkind Light Lab community or browse scenes designed by other users. I was amazed by just how much you could do with the panels.

    ImmerSpace™: Nifty extra feature

Where things get really interesting is when you pair the EP6 panels with other Linkind lighting products and make use of the ImmerSpace feature.

ImmerSpace™ is designed to extend what’s on your screen or in your speakers into the rest of your room. The system synchronises lighting effects across multiple devices, like the ET6 Smart TV Backlights, EL8 LED Light Strip, and EN6 Neon Light, so your walls, shelves, and furniture can all respond together.

When you activate TV Lighting Sync, for example, the panels and other lights mirror the colours and movement from your television content in real time. It’s a simple way to turn movies and games into something bigger and more immersive, that’s especially true of the latter.

The EL8 LED Light Strip in particular adds extra flexibility. The multi-zone design means each segment of the strip can, like the panels, display independent colours and transitions with lots of density to ensure vibrancy. The EL8 also benefits from the same AuraScape™ technology as above, so the colour blending is smooth and consistent with your panels.

They’re simple to use and go well underneath any bit of furniture. If you’ve got a bit more creativity about you, then the EN6 Neon Light offers a bit more freedom. This is simply a silicon tube light that you can bend and flex into and curved pattern you can think up.

Again, there is just so much customisation and personalisation on offer with the Linkind range that makes it really attractive. The lights themselves look excellent by the way. The level of softness is perfect and they drench the area around them in just the right amount of glow.

    Smart Features and App Control

Everything is managed through the Linkind app which is compatible with iOS and Android. The interface is super clean and makes it very easy to control colours, adjust brightness, or schedule scenes to suit different times of day. You can also create automation routines so your lighting changes automatically based on time, sunrise, or other triggers.

Voice control is supported too. If you use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, you can switch scenes, turn lights on or off, or adjust brightness hands-free.  I have a whole Alexa-based wake up system in my studio and I’ll certainly be integrating the Linkind lights with that.

    Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for customisable, responsive lighting that goes well beyond a single strip or bulb, Linkind’s lights do an excellent job. The variety on offer across the range means there are lights for loads of different spaces or pieces of furniture. If you’re looking to make a gaming hideout feel extra special, then this lighting rig is perfect.

When you combine the AuraScape™ and ImmerSapce™ features with the Linkind Entertainment Lighting range, including the Linkind ET6 Smart TV Backlights, Linkind EP6 Smart Hexagon Panels, Linkind EL8 Smart Light Strip, Linkind EN6 Smart Neon Rope Light and more, you can see how thoughtful the design process has been. The app is easy to use, the installation and syncing is virtually all done automatically and the end result is exactly what you can make of it. It’s a thumb’s up from me!
