iPhone 17 Pro Could Launch with a ‘Liquid Glass’ Colour

Liquid Glass might be making the leap from software to hardware...

If rumours from China are to be believed, Apple is planning to introduce a new ‘Liquid Glass’ colour for the iPhone 17 Pro to tie in with the launch of iOS 26.

The tip comes via leaker Instant Digital, who claims that the new colour will feature a white base layer with a subtle iridescent shift depending on how the light hits it. This is supposed to reflect the design philosophy behind the Liquid Glass software aesthetic, which redesigned the look of iOS to be more glass-like, with light refraction being a key element of that.

There’s no image of the colour in the wild yet, but the idea is to tie the hardware and software together visually, much like when Apple’s ‘Starlight’ finish once echoed macOS Big Sur’s pastel palette.

If it’s real, Liquid Glass would sit alongside the usual titanium options expected for the iPhone 17 Pro lineup. Whether it replaces an existing colour or joins as a limited-edition finish remains to be seen. The leaker doesn’t claim to have actually seen images of a new colour, but simply heard that it exists.

The colour in question supposedly exists already in the launch plans as ‘White’, but the white in question may change in hue in different lights, something akin to a pearlescent effect. Related to this, another leaker recently shared images of third-party lens covers for the iPhone 17, which reportedly matched those from Apple. No white was listed, but ‘Translucent’ was.

    Explained: iOS 26 features

Apple is likely to reveal the iPhone 17 range in September 2025, as per tradition. Until then, we’ll chalk this up as a rumour with potential, one that might make this year’s Pro model a little more visually distinctive than last year’s somewhat muted titanium tones.

That liquid glass color for the iPhone 17 Pro sounds like the kind of subtle twist Apple does that makes you want to see it in person before deciding — almost like those times you read https://flexshopper.pissedconsumer.com/review.html before trying something new, just to hear how everyday people describe the feel and look. I remember saving up for my first shiny phone color that wasn’t just black or white, and even little design changes made it feel special every time I picked it up. Whether it’s a new hue or a clever feature, those details make tech feel more personal and fun to use.
