Phones are expensive and that means it’s worth spending a little bit more to not only protect them, but also expand their utility. Luckily for you, I’ve been reviewing and using lots of phones for the past five years, which also means I’ve used hundreds of phone accessories.

If you’ve just bought a beautiful new iPhone, it might seem counterintuitive to cover it up by instantly slapping a case on it. But unless you get a kick out of living life on the edge, then you will absolutely want to buy a case. And not just any old case, one that actually protects your device with something other than a thin bit of plastic.
That’s why Benks’ range is my top choice. Now, I’ve used more iPhone cases than 99% of the world’s population, so I don’t say that without good reason. I actually have two recommendations. The first is the ArmorPro ArmorGrid case, which weaves DuPont Kevlar into the frame to give you rock-solid drop and scratch resistance, alongside a really striking pattern on the back, which is perfect if you like a bit of individuality. Both colour options are matched to the iPhone 17 Pro Max colour ways too!

At the end of the day, these phone cases do exactly what you want: provide real protection with a stylish design and functionality. I’ve been using the ArmorGrid case for a few weeks now, including whilst travelling on various trips abroad, and it hasn’t let me down. They’re an excellent choice!
Best Android Cases: Peak Design
When it comes to choosing an Android case, there are even more options than when looking for an iPhone. On top of that, most smartphone case brands do a good job, which makes the decision even harder. That’s why I’ve gone with Peak Design here because the quality they offer is unmatched, and that alone separates it from the rest.
The phone cases themselves don’t come with any flashy extras like a stand, but they do come with space for special adapters on the rear so you can attach a range of Peak Design accessories to them. In my mind, this is far better than having one tool on the back of your case because this way, you get much more versatility.

For example, Peak Design sells things like bicycle mounts, car mounts, mobile tripods and wallets that all work via this adapter. Besides that, the cases themselves are made from an ultralightweight polycarbonate body with neodinium magnets and anodised aluminium buttons. You then usually get a choice of covering: either Clarino vegan leather or their Versa Shell recycled nylon canvas.
Depending on which phone model you have, there are some colour options too, beyond the usual blacks and greys. Overall, when you buy a case from Peak Design, you know you’re getting quality, so it’s absolutely worth the money!
Best Wireless Charger: UGREEN MagFlow
I have tons of these things they are that good. Whenever I’m on the move, there is a MagFlow with me, ready to slap onto the back of whatever phone I’m using.
What makes it such a brilliant product is the simplicity and effectiveness with which the MagFlow performs its function. You get a 10000mAh capacity, which equates to about 1.8 charges of an iPhone 17 Pro Max, Qi2 25W charging speeds plus a built-in USB-C cable and USB-C port. That last point is a really important as it means you can charge up to three devices at once from this very compact powerbank.

And it is compact. It magnetically attaches to the rear of your phone with no overhang and you can still fit both into your pocket when attached to eachother. There’s also a very handy display on the side which tells you exactly how much charge you have left in.
My top tip is to buy two of these and then you’ll never have any battery worries again when on your travels. This is especially true if you’re the proud owner of an iPhone Air…
Best Charging Cable: Anker Powerline III USB-C
This one is fairly simple, it’s just a charging cable after all. Well that’s what you might think. When you go hunting for a new one on Amazon, you are often inclined just to buy a cheap one. This is your sign to stop doing that!
Anker’s Powerline III USB-C enables 100W charging speeds when paired with the right adapter meaning you can fast charge your phone, but also larger devices like a MacBook Pro. That means you don’t need to carry around multiple cables and plugs for all your devices, this one cable solves it all.

It’s durable too, made from bulletproof fibres and rated up to 25000 bends. I don’t know about you but that seems like a lot of bends. There’s not much more to say here other than buying a slightly more expensive but better quality charger is better for your devices and wallet in the long term.
Best Phone Wallet: Moft Phone Tripod Wallet
Moft’s Tripod Wallet isn’t just any old wallet as you might have guessed.
Yes, it can store your cards safely, up to two, and is NFC compatible so you can still use contactless payments. And yes, it works with iPhone and Android thanks to Moft’s included attachable magnetic rings. It’s very light and unobtrusive too, weighing just 96 grams.

But it also doubles as a very versatile stand for your phone. You can use it as a simple one-legged fold out stand, or go the whole hog and unfurl the full tripod mode which adds height and stability to your phone placements. It works in portrait or landscape mode too meaning it’s great for watch videos or video calls, plus it can be angled through -10o to 45o.
It’s a very nifty design that performs multiple functions very well. It makes travelling a much more enjoyable experience, especially on planes or trains. There’s a load of different colour options too so take your pick!
Best Phone Strap: Spigen DA30M
Phone straps have become ‘a thing’ of late, thanks to the fear of phone thefts that are perpetuated by endless social media clips. But the concept makes sense, why wouldn’t you want to protect one of the most expensive things you own?
Well, if you’re going to do it, then you may aswell do it right. And that’s why I like Spigen’s DA30M phone strap. First off, it looks the part; chunky, well-made and durable. It goes across your body and attaches to any phone case, so the compatibility is universal, plus it clips into place with strong magnets that are easy to remove but not easy to yank apart.

The DA30M also has this bandolier-type design meaning you can also hook on other accessories like you earbuds, keys or any tools you might have. As far as phone straps go, this one is well-madea and comes with a few extra features. You can’t go wrong!
Best Gimbal: DJI Osmo Mobile 8
Full disclaimer: I love DJI’s stuff. I use their drones and think their Osmo Pocket is one of the best bits of filming gear to have been release in the last few years. So it’s no surprise that I’m recommending their Osmo Mobile 8 phone gimbal here.
The amount of features this thing has is almost endless, so I won’t run through every single one now. But I will say that this is categorically the best value for money phone gimbal I’ve ever used.
The Osmo Mobile 8 uses 3-axis stabilisation to keeps things smooth when recording on the move, which is the main thing you want when you buy one of these things. It comes with a built-in tripod and extension if you need a bit of extra reach, plus a very smooth 360 degree rotation for your phone.

DJI has also added Native Tracking for this model, meaning the subject of whatever you are filming stays in shot without you having to do anything. All of the buttons are easily accessible with your thumb and what I really love is that it comes with 10 hours of battery life, which you can also use to charge your phone.
DJI has thought of everything with this, and it comes for less than $150. If you want a gimbal for your phone, this is the one.
