Apple Watch On Black Friday and 4 Other Apple Black Friday Deals

Amazon’s Black Friday week is underway and there are some genuine deals to be had across a range of tech brands. But most will be hunting for discounted Apple products.

And luckily, with the release of the Apple Watch Series 9, older models are being featured in some Apple Watch Black Friday deals. We’ve reviewed the best Apple Watch Black Friday deals available and a couple of others that are definitely worth your time.

    Apple Watch Series 8

Until September 2023, the Apple Watch Series 8 was the latest addition to Apple’s lineup of smartwatches. Offering an array of advanced features such as sleep tracking, fitness analytics and a sleek design, it remains an excellent choice for those wanting a smartwatch.

The Apple Watch Series 9 made minor improvements such as a brighter screen, but there are no major reasons to go out of your way to buy one over a Series 8. It’ll do you just fine.

Whilst this isn’t the biggest Apple Watch Black Friday discount, it is still a good price. In the USA, you can pick one up for $423 and in the UK for £339.00, a saving of around 3%.

If you want larger discounts, then you may have to look for something slightly older…

    Apple Watch SE 2nd Generation

Now this is a truly great deal. Many people overlook the Apple Watch SE because of poor marketing and a perception that it is limited in its capabilities.

Whilst the SE does not have all of the advanced features of a regular Apple Watch, it is still an excellent smartwatch for the lower price tag. Released alongside the Apple Watch Series 8, it contains the exact same Apple S8 processor and crash-detection feature.

It doesn’t have the capability to provide an ECG reading, but it can still record your heartbeat. The Apple Watch SE also doesn’t have the always-on display which you can activate on normal Apple Watches to ensure things like the time are always visible. However, even most Apple Watch users don’t use this feature as it drains battery life.

There are other minor differences, but seriously, the Apple Watch SE 2nd Generation is the perfect buy as a first smartwatch.

Amazon currently has the Apple Watch SE 2nd Generation discounted by 8%, meaning it costs $285 in the USA and £229 in the UK.

    Apple Pencil 2

This is possibly the best deal on this list, but only for a certain set of people.

If you have been pondering whether to buy an Apple Pencil to use with your iPad, or wanted to upgrade from an Apple Pencil 1 but couldn’t justify the cost, then now is the time to take the leap.

With pressure sensitivity, tilt sensitivity, magnetic attachment and charging, and the lowest latency around, the Apple Pencil 2 vastly improves any user’s iPad experience. If you’re an artist who uses an iPad, this is a no-brainer.

The Apple Pencil 2 is compatible with the iPad mini 6th generation, iPad Air 4th generation and later and the iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and later.

Amazon’s Black Friday week means the Apple Pencil 2 is selling for just $111 in the USA and £89 in the UK, a 36% discount. Just for perspective, most Apple Pencil alternatives, such as the excellent Benks Pen, normally sell for around this price.

    iPad Air 5 10.9 inch

Here’s an Apple Black Friday deal on a bit of current-generation tech.

Striking a perfect balance between portability (which is what the iPad was originally made for) and performance, the iPad Air 5 is the happy medium that will suit the majority of users.

Items like the iPad Pro are really only worth the money for those involved with serious tasks like video editing or graphic design. The iPad Air 5 has ample power to perform normal tasks like emailing, note-taking, drawing and watching movies. It is also compatible with the Apple Pencil 2. The 10.9-inch display is also a comfortable size with enough space to not feel cramped when consuming content.

The iPad Air 6 is probably not coming until June 2024, and even then it will only be iteratively better than the Air 5. If you are in the market for an iPad but don’t want to blow the bank, this is a perfect choice.

The iPad Air 5 Black Friday deal is currently at 15% off, meaning it costs $722 or £579.

    Apple AirPods Pro 2

The final offer on this list will probably be the most popular. AirPods are one of Apple’s most successful products after all.

But these aren’t any old AirPods, they are the superior AirPods Pro 2. With high-quality noise cancelling, voice-calling, six hours of battery and a further four in the case, the Pro 2s are a genuine upgrade on a normal set of AirPods.

Even better, these are the newest versions of AirPods, released in September 2023, so they come with the latest USB-C charging port.

Get a pair on Amazon at a 13% discount for $248 or £199. Bearing in mind a normal pair of 3rd generation AirPods sell for $179 (£179), this is a very good deal if it’s AirPods you’re after.
