AirPods Black Friday: Airpods Max Deal And Wildcard Headphone Bargain

Black Friday is near and it can be stressful sorting the genuine deals from the lacklustre. But fear not! We have sniffed out the finest Airpods Black Friday deals for you to consider right here.

Interestingly, all three types of Apple headphones, Airpods, Airpods Pro 2 and Airpods Max, are on offer this Black Friday which is excellent news for consumers. All three types offer some of the best sound quality around, although they aren’t definitively the best.

That’s why we’ve also included a wildcard Black Friday deal with such great value that may be enough to tempt you!

Read on for the best AirPods Black Friday deals.

    Airpods Max

Seeing Airpods Max discounted on Black Friday is tantalising. For many, they are the pinnacle of headphone design and are perhaps the most desirable Apple product around at the moment.

First off the bat, the design is truly beautiful. The smooth anodized aluminium cups offer something that feels so much more premium than other plastic-based brands.

The Digital Crown button, from which you can adjust volume and end calls, means the Airpods Max are easy to control without accessing your phone. Of course, there is also excellent high-fidelity audio quality and some of the best noise-cancelling you’ll find. A specialised neodymium motor also works to reduce distortion.

There are better headphones out there (but not many), and the Airpods Max is heavily priced at an RRP of $549 (£499), way above other top-of-the-line over-ear headphones.

But we’re talking about Black Friday Airpods here. On Amazon, you can buy a pair for a genuinely impressive $449 in the USA or £479 in the UK.

    Airpods 3rd Generation

What if you’re looking for some in-ear headphones and don’t want to completely drain your bank account?

Well, you are also being served well by Black Friday. Everybody knows about AirPods. Whilst they didn’t exactly pave the way for wireless earbuds, AirPods certainly made them popular.

With a portable, wireless charging case, AirPods are extremely convenient for iPhone users. In terms of sound quality, the base-level AirPods are excellent with impressive bass clarity and depth. For the price, you can’t get much better…but there is better. For example, the JBL Tour Pro 2’s are seriously good for about $40 more.

But, if it’s 3rd generation AirPods you’re after, Amazon has them listed for just $139 in the USA and £159 in the UK.

    Airpods Pro 2

With high-quality noise cancelling, voice-calling, six hours of battery and a further four stored in the case, the AirPod Pro 2s are a genuine upgrade on a normal set of AirPods.

Even better, these are the newest versions of AirPods, released in September 2023, so they come with the latest USB-C charging port.

However, this is where the trade-offs between price and quality become less clear. The AirPods Pro 2 are excellent earbuds. There’s no doubt about that. But for a similar price, you can get earbuds made by dedicated manufacturers, like the abovementioned JBL Tour Pro 2’s, that are arguably better.

But if you are already in the Apple ecosystem, buying a pair of AirPods Pro 2 is the most logical and seamless choice.

You can pick them up on Amazon with a hefty discount (the largest on this list) of 24%, making them excellent value compared to nearest competitors. Buy them for $189 or £199.

    Beats Studio Pro

And now for the wildcard, the best non-AirPod Black Friday deal we think there is this year.

    The Beats Studio Pro.

If you want truly huge savings on headphones, then look no further. In the USA, the Beats Studio Pros are selling at a frankly unbelievable 51% discount (and a respectable 20% in the UK).

With pretty much the same sound quality and dynamic range as the Airpods Max, and a longer battery life by about 10 hours, it is hard not to recommend the Beats Studio Pro. Especially when their standard RRP is around $200/£200 less.

Seriously, the difference between the two is marginal. The AirPods Max may be slightly more refined, to some ears, but the Beats are virtually comparable.

If you don’t need or want Apple products, you won’t regret choosing the Beats Studio Pro. Buy for $169 in the US (yes, that low!) and £279 in the UK.

    AirPods Black Friday Round-Up

As consumers, the best thing you can get is genuine choice. Thankfully, these AirPods Black Friday deals give us that in spades. Every type of AirPod is on offer, whatever your needs.

If it was me, I would be buying in this order:

Beats Studio Pro (regardless of being in the Apple ecosystem or not), AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 3rd Generation and then the AirPods Max. The latter are still overpriced, even at a discount.

But whichever you choose, you’re still getting a great discount!
